Norse Solutions has developed corporate finance and accounting software since 1986. During the late 90's, we decided to shift focus to more complex accounting and disclosure issues in order to increase our competitive advantage.

We identified the stock-based payment market as a growing niche with few competitors in the European Market. In 2002, the four founders: Hans Martin Hamre, Arne Peder Blix, Bjørn Lyder Løberg and Geir Claussen, invested gains earned through own stock-based payment from previous employment as start capital for Norse Solutions. Thus, Norse was founded as a result of stock-based payment ("By Options"), and aims to play a significant role in developing the stock-based payment industry ("for Options"). Norse Solutions is wholly owned by the employees.

We started coding our comprehensive web-based software Norse Options from scratch, in accordance with our "Top Down" architecture principle. In retrospect, our timing was excellent as it allowed us to take all the changes in IFRS and US-GAAP, as well as Sarbanes Oxley requirements (SAS 70 etc.), into account during our continuous development.

Norse Solutions currently holds AAA rating with Dun & Bradstreet, and we have held this AAA rating since 2008

Founded in 2002, Norse Solutions is today the leading supplier of customized web-based software for the administration of share-based compensation plans in the North-European region. Norse Solutions is currently expanding to other European countries.

One of the reasons for our success in the market is our “Top Down” approach in developing the software Norse Options™ and in handling our customers.

Does share-based payment work?

In 2011, Norse Solutions assisted Master of Science students on a master thesis on financial and affective attractiveness of employee share purchase programs.

Is it secure?

To make Norse Options secure and ourselves security-aware is a continuous effort. To this end we explore risk-based security testing in Diamonds by being subject to external assessments by SINTEF. We are also part of the international Diamonds ITEA project lead by Fraunhofer FOKUS.

Generalise product

Based on funding from SkatteFUNN 2009-2010, we generalised Norse Options to handle different plan types and import/export formats.

Develop domain architecture

Based on funding from SkatteFUNN, we develop an open interoperability architecture in our domain.
